Fast, Cheap & Good

Is this a milestone anniversary year for your company?  Are you launching a new product or service?  There are a variety of reasons you may need promotional products.   Sometimes they stand alone to achieve your goals and sometimes they are part of a bigger marketing plan that’s executed over a period of time.

Naturally you want your chosen items to be good quality but you want them on time and under budget.  When you are looking at your upcoming events, it’s always a good idea to set a budget and plan in advance.  It’s easy to fall into the habit of ordering just in time to get your needed goods but this practice doesn’t allow for a lot of flexibility or choice.  The more time you have, the more choices you have.

Have you ever heard of the Project Management Triangle?  This concept can apply to your marketing and promotional efforts as well.  The triangle illustrates the basic elements of a project – time, cost and quality.  Every project must work within these constraints and if you alter one the rest will affected.

What are your priorities?

·        If you want good quality at a great price you will have to sacrifice time and potentially look at overseas production.

·        If fast and good are most important to you it will be more expensive as rush charges and expedited shipping come into play.

·        If you want cheap and fast you will end up ordering products with very little sustainability.

In other words, you can order something fast, cheap or good but not all three at once.  One of the elements will ultimately end up in last place on your list of priorities.  Understanding the triangle will help you plan better, determine your priorities and communicate those priorities to those you are working with.  Ask the advice of your promotional products professional.  You may not know our business inside and out but we do - and we’re happy to help you make your project a success!
